There is currently a great debate over TTK. Arguments from one side say that as hit detection was improved, HP and DMG values were not adjusted appropriately.
Arguments from AR users "Don't nerf me bro"
This leaves players in limbo wondering if the current state of Dust is to be maintained, the trend towards CoD to be continued, or if a re-evaluation of TTK is coming anytime soon.
It would be SO bloody easy for CCP to make an official statement something to the effect of
"We realize the balance issues created by code optimizations and although it's not our immediate priority, we intend to raise TTK within the next 2 patches".
Or
"Although the unintended consequences of our optimizations caused a decrease in TTK, upon feedback and reflect we think this is a good change for Dust"
Or
"Our design team leader would like to take these 5 minuets and briefly explain our philosophy and vision behind TTK rates, weapons, ranges, and where we would like to see Dust in regards to this issue. . ."
Yet instead of this we're treated to silence and left to assumptions. Dangerous assumptions. For many, when we go too long without any comment on fixes to game mechanics or bugs. . . (HELLO DROPSHIP SIDE-TURRET, AIM RESETTING BUG of 6 MONTHS) . . When our concerns go too long without being addressed, this manifests itself in a distinctive lack of playing or caring about Dust.
Vets go from ardent supporters of CCP to near virtual enemies and resentment builds over the perplexing issue of Why Couldn't They Just Say Something? Is it really that difficult?
This is not the same as staying what new content is expected to be coming when, or when Dust will fully integrate in a meaningful way with Eve. Or when Dust will move to PS4. This is entirely reasonable and I would say expected, but entirely ignored.
CCP reads these posts man...... There not blind, theres been a TON of TTK posts. The likely reason they haven't said anything in regards to it are probably A.) there focused on 1.7 (you know..... that huge update that's totally destroying vehicles as we know it), and B.) They probably haven't decided what they want in regards to that yet. CCP has daily meetings on where they want to take the game, and if they haven't decided on weather they like TTK or not then they wont post anything on it.......
Theres one thing worse then not telling the community what your planning as a dev....... and that's telling the community one thing, and then turning back around and saying "actually were doing it this way"........ I'd rather them stay neutral on TTK if they don't have an answer for it yet.
And besides..... TTK isn't even a big deal anyway...... This game gives you FAR more reaction time then 99% of other shooters even with the recent decrease in TTK. So I don't get why you people complain. Yes it sucks that militia suits drop super quick now...... but its a militia suit..... its not meant to be that good.
